Adj Prof Lim Tock Han is the immediate past director of NHG Eye Institute, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He was fellowship trained in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Mn, USA. Among his clinical and research interests are Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy (PCV). He has pioneered the use of Confocal Scanning Laser Indocyanine Angiography (CSLO-ICGA) in the region for the diagnosis and treatment of PCV, culminating in the setting up of the region's first PCV imaging reading center, Fundus Imaging Reading Centre (FIRC) and the first prospective randomized controlled trial of PCV, EVEREST Trial (by Novartis)

Adj Prof Lim is an adjunct Professor in Ophthalmology at the National University of Singapore, Adjunct Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University and an Adjunct Professor at the Universiti Kebangsaan, Malaysia. Adj Prof Lim is currently the Deputy Group CEO (Education and Research) of National Healthcare Group, Singapore. 



A/Prof Colin Tan
Senior Consultant, Head of Research and Head of Fundus Image Reading Center,
NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)


A/Prof Colin Tan is the Head of the Fundus Image Reading Center, Deputy Head of Vitreoretina and Head of Research at the NHG Eye Institute. He is also an Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Senior Consultant ophthalmologist from NHG Eye Institute, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. 

A/Prof Tan manages patients with retinal conditions such as polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy, age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other retinal vascular diseases. He has over 170 publications in international journals and has presented his research at various international conference. In addition to an active clinical practice and research, A/Prof Tan also has a keen interest in education and has received education awards such as the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Top Ten Teachers Award from Tan Tock Seng Hospital.




Dr Rajesh Rajagopalan
Senior Consultant and Head of Vitreo-Retinal Service,

Dr Rajesh is currently a Senior Consultant at the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He completed his postgraduate training in ophthalmology at Madras Medical College and Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Chennai, India. He was a university topper in his post graduate diploma in ophthalmology and was the best outgoing student of his batch during his Master of Surgery (ophthalmology). He underwent vitreo-retinal fellowship training at Sydney Eye Hospital, Sydney. His special interest is in diabetic retinopathy but is also very experienced in the management of vitreo-retinal conditions and age-related macular degeneration.



Adj A/Prof Augustinus Laude
Senior Consultant, NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)

Adjunct Associate Professor Augustinus Laude is Senior Consultant in the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute at Tan Tock Seng Hospital with clinical and research interests in cataracts, macula diseases and low vision. 

He completed a 2-year fellowship in medical retina and ocular imaging at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, NHS Lothian, Edinburgh, UK and is dually appointed Adjunct Associate Professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. He is also an inventor who held 3 patents and a licensing agreement for medical technology innovations developed with his collaborators. 



A/Prof I-Van Ho
Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of Ophthalmic Surgery,
Macquarie University

A/Prof I-Van Ho is an experienced vitreo-retinal surgeon and macular disease specialist with expertise in small incision vitrectomy surgery and retinal imaging techniques. He graduated from Sydney Medical School and completed Ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital. He subsequently undertook two vitreo-retinal surgery and medical retina fellowships at Sydney Eye Hospital and the University of British Columbia Vancouver, Canada. In 2006, he completed a Macular Disease and Medical Retina fellowship at the Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital and Vitreous Retina Macula New York. I-Van commenced practice in 2007 on his return to Sydney. 

He is currently an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of Ophthalmic Surgery at Macquarie University. He is Director of Vitreo-retinal Fellowship training and Director of Registrar Training for New South Wales and Sydney Eye Hospital Network. 

A/Prof Ho is well published in peer-review journals and lectures at international and local meetings. 



Prof Yu Seung-Yong
Professor, Kyung Hee University Hospital

Prof Seung-Young is a committed academic physician, with a passion for clinical work, teaching and research. She graduated from KyungHee University School of Medicine and served as a research fellow at Massachusettes Eye and Ear Infirmary during 2002-2004 and visiting scholar at Beyer Eye Institute during 2012-2013. She is a current professor at the KyungHee University School of Medicine. She has depth understanding of the latest systems in retinal imaging which she vigorously utilizes in clinical research. She published majority of articles in retinal imaging including various OCT technologies and fundus autofluorescene systems.



Prof Li Xiao Xin
Professor of Ophthalmology,
Chinese Ocular Fundus Diseases Society

Xiaoxin Li is General President of Xia Men Eye Center of Xia Men Medical College. She was the Chair and Professor for the Eye Centre and Eye Institute of Peking University People's Hospital. She was President of the Chinese Ophthalmology Society (COS) and Past President of the Chinese Ocular Fundus Diseases Society (Vitreo-Retina Society).

She was leading PI of a research project 973 for AMD pathogenesis of Chinese population and published papers on a new gene UBE 3D. She published more than 200 papers and edited 7 books. 



Prof Yang Chung May
Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, 
College of Medicine National Taiwan University

Prof Chung-May Yang is currently the Director of Ophthalmology, National Taiwan University Hospital, and professor of ophthalmology, National Taiwan University. 

He is the former president of Taiwan Retina Society. His research interests mainly focus on clinical studies on complicated retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy and vitreo-retinal interface disorders. He was the first to use lends capsule to treat persistent macular hole after failed primary procedures, and published high success rate of macular hole closure in macular hole with retinal detachment in high myopia using various novel techniques. 



Dr Sjakon G Tahija
Founding Director and Vitreo-Retinal Consultant,
KMN Eyecare

Dr Sjakon George Tahija is Founder and Medical Director of KMN Eyecare, a national chain of eye-clinics in Indonesia, where he also serves as Vitreo-Retinal Consultant and Surgeon at one of the clinics. 

After completing his residency in ophthalmology at University of Indonesia, he attended a vitreoretinal fellowship under Professor Ian Constable at Lion's Eye Institute. 

Since 2006, he has pioneered the use of anti-VEGF in the treatment of neonates with Aggressive Posterior Retinopathy of Prematurity (APROP) and published the results. 

He has also initiated, organized and chaired a biennial international event for Ophthalmologists in Bali, called BIOR (The Bali Ophthalmology Review).



A/Prof Dr Adrian Koh
Founding Partner and Senior Consultant,
Eye & Retina Surgeons, Camden Medical Centre

A/Prof Dr Koh is Founding Partner and Senior Consultant at the Eye & Retina Surgeons, Camden Medical Centre; he is past President of the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology, and member of the Executive Council of the College of Ophthalmologists. He was appointed Executive Director of ESASO Asia. He was Congress President of the 5th APVRS in 2010. He is an active member of the Macula Society and Club Jules Gonin. 

A/Prof Dr Koh completed Fellowships in Medical Retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital & the Jules Stein Eye Institute.

His areas of expertise include degenerative macular disease such as polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV), choroidal neovascularisation, retinal dystrophy, visual electrophysiology and retinal vascular disease. He is one of the key opinion leaders in Retina. He is principal investigator of the EVEREST trial and Chairman of the PCV Roundtable of Experts. He sits on several international advisory boards and steering committees. 



Dr Paisan Ruamviboonsuk
Assistant Director, Centers of Medical Excellence,
Rajavithi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand

Dr Paisan Ruamviboonsuk is the Scientific Secretary of Asia-Pacific Vitreo-Retina Society and the President of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress in 2019. He is the Immediate Past President of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand and the Thai Retina Society. He was the Founding President of Association of Southeast Asian Nationals Ophthalmology Society and currently serves as the Secretary General of the society. He received many international awards including APAO Arthur Lim Award, American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, APAO Achievement Award, APAO Distinguished Service Award, United Nations Public Service Award.



Prof SriniVas Sadda
President & Chief Scientific Officer, Doheny Eye Institute 

Prof SriniVas R. Sadda, MD, is the President and Chief Scientific Officer of the Doheny Eye Institute, the Stephen J. Ryan - Arnold and Mabel Beckman Endowed Chair, and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) Geffen School of Medicine. He received his MD from Johns Hopkins, where he also completed ophthalmology residency and neuro-ophthalmology and medical retina fellowships (Wilmer Eye Institute). 

Prof Sadda's major research interests include automated retinal image analysis, retinal substructure assessment, and advanced retinal imaging technologies. He has more than 430 peer-reviewed publications and 20 book chapters, and has given over 400 presentations worldwide. Prof Sadda also serves as an editorial board member of Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers & Imaging, Retina, Graefe's, Ophthalmology Retina, and Ophthalmology. He has been named to the Best Doctors of America list for several consecutive years. 



Prof Giovanni Staurenghi
Professor of Ophthalmology, University of Milan

Prof Giovanni is currently Professor of Ophthalmology, Chair of the University Eye Clinic and Director of the University Eye Clinic Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences "Luigi Sacco". He was awarded his degree at the University of Pavia, Italy, in 1986 and completed his residency at the University of Milan in 1990.

He was a research fellow at the Schepens Eye Research Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, USA from 1991 to 1992 and Visiting Scientist at the same institute from 1992 to 1993. He became Associate Professor in 1999 and was promoted to full professor in 2007. 

He was awarded with the Coscas medal, and give name lectures such as Junius Kuhnt lecture and the Heinrich Muller lecture. He is Silver medal fellow of ARVO, the Macula Society Member since 2004, the Ophthalmic Photographers' Society since 2006, and the AAO since 2007. 



A/Prof Ian Wong
Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology,
LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong (HKU)

A/Prof Ian Wong is currently Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). After obtaining his fellowship with the College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong, he joined his Alma Mata as a faculty staff, specializing in the field of retinal diseases. Since then, A/Prof Ian has devoted his time and effort in academic research and has to date published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. In addition, he is actively involved in conducting clinical trials in the field of retina. Since joining his current institution, he has lead numerous trials as the principal investigator. 

A/Prof Ian has been on the editorial board of 3 ophthalmology journals, and has been reviewing manuscripts regularly for top eye journals for many years. He took up the role of Editor-in-Chief of the Hong Kong Journal of Ophthalmology since 2015. 



Prof Usha Chakravarthy
Professor School of Medicine,
Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences Institute for Health Sciences Centre for Public Health,
Queen's University of Belfast

Prof Usha is Professor of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences in the Queen's University of Belfast. She was promoted to Professor in Ophthalmology in 1999 with a joint Consultant appointment to the Royal Victoria Hospital. Her clinical interests lie in management of retinal disorders and she has been the lead clinician for medical since her appointment. She was appointed Clinical Director for Ophthalmology Services in the Belfast Trust in 2010 leading a group of 50 strong clinical medical staff. 

Her current research involves studies on understanding of retinal and choroidal vascular diseases as well as degenerative aging changes contributing to sight loss in older adults. She is recognised internationally for her work on age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. 

On an international level she has served a number of international advisory panels including the AMD alliance and Laskar Foundation. She has been on the editorial board of national and international journals and the oversight committee for JAMA Ophthalmology. She received the Alan Alderman award for excellence from the Macular Society in 2016 and more recently was honoured in the Queen's Birthday Honours List with the award of Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for her services to Ophthalmology. 



A/Prof Yu Suqin
Doctor, Shanghai Jiaotong University,
Shanghai General Hospital, China

A/Prof Suqin Yu, MD is currently an Associate Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai General Hospital, China. She received her medical degree from Shanghai Medical University and Master Degree from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University. She also received international fellowship at the Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York, Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. 

A/Prof Yu has about 25 years of extensive experience in eye care, diagnosis and treatment of various eye diseases. Her subspecialty is Vitreo-Retinal diseases; interests are in retinal imaging, fundus morphological and functional examinations, and laser treatments for retinal diseases. She has published over 30 popular science articles and peer-reviewed journal articles and have co-authored 4 books.
