Dr Don Pek
Consultant, NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)

Dr Don Pek is a Consultant with the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. He received his medical training from the University of Glasgow and also completed a Bachelor of Medical Science Honours degree. He completed his post graduate training and has been elected as a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Ediburgh and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

Besides his training in General Ophthalmology, he has a special interest in anterior segment reconstruction, refractive surgery and complex cataracts, and is part of the NHG Eye Institute @ TTSH's anterior segment and cataract service. He also regularly volunteers in non profit organisations to provide free cataract surgery to people with poor access to healthcare in regions such as Ladakh, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Dr Don Pek was awarded the Healthcare Humanities Award by President SR Nathan in 2011 for his continued contributions in providing medical care to communities with poor access.

A/Prof Vernon Yong
Senior Consultant and Head of Department,

Deputy Director, NHG Eye Institute

Clinical Associate Professor Yong chose to be a glaucoma specialist as he realized that the population was an ageing one and the numbers of glaucoma patients would steadily increase over the next decade or so. Involvement in population screening is Clinical Associate Professor Yong's other area of interest. Drawing on his long term leadership in clinic management at NHG Eye Institute @ TTSH, Clinical Associate Professor Yong has assumed the post of Head of the Department of Ophthalmology.

Mr Lim Yun Chong
Optometrist, NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)

Mr Lim Yun Chong is currently an Optometrist at the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Optometry in 2009 and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Optometry with First Class Honours from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom in 2014. He then completed a one-year hands-on Fellowship in Clinical Eye Care at Singapore International Eye Cataract Retina Centre in 2015. 

Yun Chong is trained in the detection and management of common eye conditions such as myopia, cataract and diabetic retinopathy, as well as providing a comprehensive primary eye care service. He is active in teaching, and has delivered lectures not only to primary eye care professionals but also to the general public and other healthcare professionals on various topics such as ocular diseases and examination techniques.

Ms Quah Hui Min
Optometrist, NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)

Ms Quah Hui Min is a Optometrist with National Healthcare Group (NHG) Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She received her Diploma in Optometry from Singapore Polytechnic and also completed her Bachelor's degree in University of Manchester. She has a special interest in primary eye care and is currently part of a team of optometrists running the Stable Eye Condition Clinic and Community Eye Clinic. She has years of experience dealing with paediatrics, including children with low vision. She also regularly volunteers at overseas humanitarian missions to provide eye services and appliances to communities with limited access to healthcare.

Ms Yong Siau Hwi Caryn
Senior Optometrist, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH)

Ms Caryn Yong is currently a Senior Optometrist at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2008. Prior to graduation, she did her overseas attachment at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore in 2008. She worked at OPSM, Luxottica in Melbourne for a couple of years before returning to Singapore in 2011. She was appointed as Chief Optometrist at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in 2013. Besides leading the optometry team in setting up the Supplementary Primary Eye Care Clinic (SPEC) at KTPH, she also leads them in providing community eye care service in the Community and Home Eye Screening Service (CHESS) project since 2016.

Ms Chua Yee Leen
Senior Optometrist, Videre Eyecare Pte Ltd

Chua Yee Leen graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, with a Masters degree in Clinical Optometry in 2007.

With her 19 years of primary eye care private practice experience, her interests include education the public on the importance of primary eye care. 

Yee Leen is currently Senior Optometrist of Videre Eyecare and also an associate lecturer in Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore.

Dr Kwan Heng Kuen Martin
Senior Lecturer and Course Chair, School of Health Sciences @ Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Dr Martin Kwan is a senior lecturer and the course chair of the Diploma in Optometry programme at the School of Health Sciences, Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Dr Kwan earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Aston University, and is a Fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators.

Ms Tan Huiling Sheryl
Senior Optometrist, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)

Sheryl graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with Diploma in Optometry in 2009 and University of Manchester (Singapore) with BSC Optometry (Hons) in 2011. She has been working in Tan Tock Seng Hospital for the past 7 years. Her area of interest is in Primary Eye Care and Diabetic Retinopathy Photography grading. Current model and referral guidelines of Singapore Integrated Diabetic Retinopathy Programme (SiDRP).

Dr Narayanan Rajeev
Senior Lecturer, Singapore Polytechnic

Dr Rajeev is currently a Senior Lecturer @ Singapore Polytechnic (SP) overseeing Continuing Education and Training in Optometry. Prior to this, he was the Course Chair of SP's Optometry program. Other prior appointments were: Contact Lens Faculty @ LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), Senior Teaching Demonstrator @ University of Melbourne, and Manager @ SP Optometry Centre. 

He has been a dynamic Educator for more than a decade in SP, and is a recipient of Excellence in Teaching Award. He is a Lifetime Fellow of International Association of Contact Lens Educators, a Fellow of LVPEI, and a Member of Singapore Optometric Association and American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. 

Dr Rajeev subspecialises in the field of Contact Lenses and Primary Eye Care. He has delivered over 30 oral presentations across Singapore, India, Australia and the USA, and has published a couple of scientific papers in high-impact Ophthalmology/Optometry journals.

Mr Kothubutheen Mohamed Farook
Principal Optometrist, Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC)

Farook is a Principal Optometrist with the Singapore National Eye Centre. A post graduate, involved in Primary Eye Care and Research. His research involvement has been primarily in refractive surgery and devices. He coordinates clinical trials and has co-authored over 10 scientific papers. He is very passionate in educating the community in eye health. He conducts eye care talks in English and Tamil. He is also active in community eye screenings locally and overseas. In 2015, he was a recipient of the Humanitarian Award.

Ms Chua Ling Ling Jasmine
Senior Optometrist, Tan Tock Seng Hospital

Ms Jasmine Chua is an optometrist at the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She received her Diploma in Optometry from Singapore Polytechnic and her Bachelor of Optometry from University of Melbourne. She has no favourite subspecialty in optometry as she likes every aspect of it. She believes that "Vision is a necessity, not a luxury" and hopes to be able to provide people with better vision in order to improve their quality of life.

Ms Jacquelin Liew Shu Xiang
Senior Optometrist, National University Hospital Singapore (NUHS)

Ms Jacquelin Liew Shu Xiang graduated from University of Western Australia and serves as Senior Optometrist at Department of Ophthalmology, National University Hospital (NUH) since 2006. Prior to this, she has experience in private optometric practice and ophthalmic dispensing. She provides clinical optometric care and leads the Contact Lens Service in NUH. She specialises in therapeutic contact lenses for managing complex corneal cases particularly for keratoconus treatment and post-corneal graft treatment. Apart from optometric work, Jacquelin is a pet lover, having two cats and a dog at home. She also enjoys exploring the world with her own eyes.

Ms Siow Ka-Lin
Senior Principal Optometrist, Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC)

Ms Siow Kalin is currently the Lead Optometrist for Singhealth. She has been in SNEC since the inception of the institution in 1990 and currently is also the Lead for SNEC. She has helped spaded setting up the general refraction clinics and then the Health Promotion Board Refraction Clinic in year 2000 and followed by then KKWCH (now KKH). She currently oversees the operational of Optometry Service, including the subspecialties and its expansion services in various satellite clinic and its community Eye Care services.

Dr Leo Seo Wei
Ophthalmologist, Dr Leo Adult & Paediatric Eye Specialist

Dr Leo Seo Wei graduated from National University of Singapore with Gold Medal & Book Prize in Ophthalmology and completed 2 intensive fellowships in the United States after finishing specialist training in Singapore. Her first clinical fellowship was an ACGME-accredited fellowship at the University of Michigan. This was followed by a stint with the renowned Dr Kenneth Wright in Los Angeles. She has since published numerous articles and book chapters. Prior to starting private practice, she was Senior Consultant and Head, Paediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, NHG Eye Institute. Dr Leo is frequently invited to present or conduct instructional workshops at international conferences. She is also a committee member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology 2016-2018. She is a reviewer for many journals including Survey of Ophthalmology. She is currently in the Scientific Bureau of the World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus and board member, Centralised Institutional Research Board, Singhealth.

Ms Quek Zuoling
Optometrist, NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)

Ms Quek Zuoling is an optometrist at the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Eye Institution @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She received her Diploma in Optometry from Singapore Polytechnic and her Masters in Clinical Optometry from Salus University. She is interested in Primary Eye Care and is currently leading a team of optometrists fronting these services in Stable Eye Condition Clinic and Community Eye Clinic.

Mr Ryan Tay
Senior Optometrist, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)

Mr Ryan Tay is experienced in Optometry having graduated from Singapore Polytechnic in 1998 and obtained a BSc/MSc in Clinical Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2007. He is currently practicing at the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital and his clinical interests are Contact Lenses, Refractive and Cataract Surgery.
