Deputy Director, NHG Eye Institute

A/Prof Heng Wee Jin is currently the Deputy Director and Head of Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service of NHG Eye Institute, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is also the Deputy Medical Director of Singapore Eye Bank. He underwent Cornea & Refractive Surgery Fellowship training at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and was instrumental in introducing the Hospital Cornea Donation Programme to TTSH. 

His area of expertise include determining suitability of patients for LASIK, in order to achieve excellent outcomes. He has been a recipient of numerous awards, including the Ministry of Health Human Manpower Development Plan Overseas Fellowship, Asia Pacific Association of Cornea and Refractive Surgery Educator Award, and Spring Singapore Excellence Service Star Award. He is also an Examiner for local and overseas ophthalmology examinations and an instructor in LASIK and ophthalmic microsurgery courses.

Dr Philip Stanley
Consultant, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences,
Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH)

Philip F Stanley has been a consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital since July 2010. He is a US board certified ophthalmologist since 1997 and cornea specialist registered in Singapore as well as holding active medical licenses in California and Maryland.

Dr Jimmy Lim
Medical Director and Senior Consultant, JL Eye Specialists

Dr Lim is the Medical Director and Senior Consultant of JL Eye Specialists. He is an eye surgeon who specializes in cataract, refractive surgery (LASIK), cornea and general ophthalmology. 

Prior to setting up his private practice, Dr Lim was Senior Consultant and Deputy Head of Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital providing quality eye care to both local and foreign patients for over 17 years.

Adj Asst Prof Johnson Tan
Senior Consultant, NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)

Adj Asst Prof Johnson Tan is currently a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist in the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service with the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is currently an Adjunct Clinician Investigator with the Singapore Eye Research Institute. He has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and has presented his work at both international and local conferences. He was an award winner at the 32nd Annual ASCRS Film Festival Awards in 2014. Dr Tan also played a major role in setting up of our tele-ophthalmology service in 2009. Dr Tan has a passion for training and education. He oversees all undergraduate teaching curriculum in the department and is the module lead for Ophthalmology with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Adj A/Prof Lim Li
Senior Consultant, Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC)

Adj A/Prof is a Senior Consultant of the Corneal and External Eye Disease Service, and Cataract and Refractive Service at the Singapore National Eye Centre. Her interests include management of corneal and external eye diseases, corneal transplantation surgeries, cataract and refractive surgeries and medical contact lenses.

She has published many scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals, written book chapters and has participated as invited speaker at numerous local and international meetings. She in an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School of Singapore. She is also the Deputy Director of the Singapore Eye Bank.

Prof Simon Holland
Clinical Professor, University of British Columbia

Simon Holland, MB, FRCSC, FRCS, FRCOPH, MRCP, works at the Pacific Laser Eye Centre with research interests in therapeutic applications of corneal laser surgery, crosslinking, topography-guided techniques and diffuse lamellar keratitis. Dr Holland is a clinical professor at University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, in the Cornea Division and also interested in clinical research in anterior segment inflammation after surgery, infectious keratitis and phakic lens implants. He has authored more than 60 publications, several book chapters and serves as the chair of the Canadian TASS Taskforce and co-chair of the International Ophthalmology and Public Health Committee of Canadian Ophthalmic Society and section editor for Cornea of the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology. Dr Holland is head of the UBC Eye Outreach Program in Northern British Columbia and the Vice-President of ORBIS Canada.

Asst Prof Mohamed Rosman
Senior Consultant and 
Head of the Refractive Surgery Service and Laser Vision Centre, 
Singapore National Eye Centre

Asst Prof Rosman is a senior consultant ophthalmologist, Head of the Refractive Surgery Service and Laser Vision Centre at the Singapore National Eye Centre.

Asst Prof Rosman completed his medical training in 1997 at the National University of Singapore and was the Valedictorian for his graduating class. After obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine in Ophthalmology in 2007, Asst Prof Rosman subsequently went on to complete 2 advanced Fellowship Programmes on Refractive Surgery at the Singapore National Eye Centre and at the VISSUM Eye Institute in Spain. 

Asst Prof Rosman is actively involved in education for pre-university, university and post-grad students. He is an Assistant Professor for the Duke-NUS Graduate School of Medicine and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the NUS-YLL School of Medicine.

Asst Prof Rosman's research interests include refractive surgery, cataracts and the epidemiology of eye diseases among Singaporean Malays. He has published papers in international peer-reviewed journals on these topics and written several book chapters on Refractive Surgery. In addition, he has participated in numerous local and international conferences and was involved in conducting instructional courses on Refractive Surgery both locally and overseas.

Dr Cordelia Chan
Consultant Eye Surgeon,
Eye Surgeon @ Novena

Dr Chan is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Partner of Eye Surgeon @ Novena, a multi-subspecialty private ophthalmic practice in Singapore. She was the former Head, Refractive Surgery Service, Singapore National Eye Centre, and is currently Visiting Senior Consultant, Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service, Singapore National Eye Centre.

Dr Chan's clinical and research interests are in the areas of LASIK, refractive lenticule extraction, cataract surgery, cornea topography, keratoconus, pterygium, cornea infections, allergic ocular disease and lamellar cornea transplantation. She has published numerous articles in internal peer-reviewed journals and book chapters on these topics.

Dr Chan is actively involved in the teaching of Ophthalmology at both the residency and fellowship levels in cornea, external eye disease, refractive surgery and cataract surgery. She has been invited to conduct lectureships and teaching courses for ophthalmologists in many local, regional and international conferences including the ASCRS, ESCRS, APACRS, WOC, APAO and AAO Meetings.

Dr Srinivas Rao
Director, Darshan Eye Care & Surgical Centre

Dr Srinivas K. Rao is the Director of Darshan Eye Clinic, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is also the Head of Department, Cornea service, Sunetra Family Eye Care, Kolkata; Honorary Professor, Chinese University of Hong Kong, HKSAR and Professor, Muvpgo, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Dr Rao is an experienced cataract surgeon, and one of the few in his city adept in managing complicated forms of cataract - in children, secondary lens implantation, and dislocated lenses. He is a corneal surgeon of National and International repute, acknowledged as an authority in the management of complicated corneal problems. He was the first in India, Hong Kong, and China to perform Keratoprosthesis surgery, and currently is one of only two surgeons in India offering this procedure, which provides hope in end-stage blindness.
